PRESERVAÇÃO DA MEMÓRIA DAS MULHERES  – IRMANDADE DA BOA MORTE (translation below)

Muitas pessoas pensam que a memória é alguma coisa particular. E, é.

Mas, somente sobre suas coisas particulares e íntimas. Pois, nas demais coisas, ou melhor, acontecimentos que envolvam pessoas e interesses contraditórios ou mesmo comuns, inda quando presente na vida de uma ou poucas pessoas trata-se de Memória Coletiva, ou simplesmente, Memória.

Quando grupos e subgrupos sociais festejam; admiram; relembram; repetem; comem; dormem, e demais, em acontecimentos ou sobre acontecimentos, estão de verdade PRESERVANDO A SUA MEMÓRIA. A preservação da memória Coletiva se dá ao se ter conhecimento de como se prepara dada comida tradicional de dada Cultura; se dá quando se utilizam dadas vestes; se contam dadas histórias; se cantam dadas músicas, se acreditam em dados elementos sacralizados, e dentre tantas outras formas de preservação da memória coletiva, quando se festejam certas datas.

Quando no Século XIX, mulheres baianas pretas e mestiças, descendentes de escravas criaram a Irmandade da Boa Morte na cidade de Cachoeira, na Bahia, já se reuniam, cultuavam e praticavam seus rituais à Senhora da Glória e Boa Morte, na Igreja da Barroquinha em Salvador, na qual, junto a rituais religiosos cristãos católicos, praticavam os rituais religiosos do candomblé. Historiadores, como: João José Reis, Luís Cláudio Dias Nascimento, Odorico Tavares, divergem quanto as origens iniciais do exercício religioso da Irmandade da Boa Morte, e a associam ao Culto realizado na Igreja da Ordem Terceira do Carmo, Igreja da Ajuda, todas localizadas na cidade de Salvador. Especificamente, o Historiador Odorico Tavares, atribui à data de 1820, a mudança da Irmandade para a cidade de Cachoeira, no Recôncavo Baiano.

As mulheres precisaram, na época, de uma confraria, na qual fizesse parte como representante presente, já que a maioria das ordens eram masculinas, e atendesse aos seus interesses. Ou seja, a Irmandade da Boa Morte, assim como as demais, era uma entidade política e social, com intenções e ações abolicionistas. A renda obtida por essas mulheres advinha da doação de suas próprias joias, esmolas coletadas, venda de produtos, e outros, com objetivo de compras de alforrias de escravos, realização de festejos, culto, para caridade, vestuário, pecúlio de incapacitados e funeral.

As mulheres da Irmandade da Boa Morte, para serem aceitas, têm que ter mais de cinquenta anos. Ao entrar na Ordem, têm que aprender sobre sua história, sua manutenção e segredos litúrgicos ligados ao Culto aos Orixás de origem africana, e passar por um preparo inicial de três anos. É uma Instituição altamente hierarquizada, na qual, AS MULHERES MANDAM, e ainda hoje, no Século XXI, PRESERVAM A MEMÓRIA COLETIVA DAS MULHERES BAIANAS E BRASILEIRAS, por meio do exercício diário e cuidado de sua Ordem, expostos ao Público todos os anos, por meio dos festejos que vão de 13 a 17 de agosto. Na Ordem comandada por mulheres, quem ascende é uma mulher: Nossa Senhora da Boa Morte.

A Preservação da Memória, segundo a Museologia, não se dá obrigatoriamente nos espaços fechados dos Museus e Memoriais. É um fenômeno, dentre outros, cultural, social, político, econômico, portanto, técnico e teoricamente museológico, porém, como consequência, somente existe a partir dos desígnios dos subgrupos e grupos sociais, de acordo com os interesses desses mesmos grupos. Portanto, a Memória se Preserva por meio de Bens Materiais e Imateriais, como a Festa da Irmandade da Boa Morte, na Bahia.

PRESERVING THE MEMORY OF THE WOMEN-SISTERHOOD OF THE GOOD DEATH
