A solenidade acontece a partir das 15h, para convidados. (fragmento) – “Após onze anos fechada, na tarde desta sexta-feira, 7, a casa de Jorge Amado e Zélia Gattai no número 33 da Rua Alagoinhas, bairro do Rio Vermelho, em Salvador, estava novamente cheia de gente. Foi a inauguração para autoridades, convidados e imprensa do memorial A Casa do Rio Vermelho.

Projetado pelo celebrado arquiteto e cenógrafo Gringo Cardia (com auxílio na curadoria do vice-reitor da Ufba Paulo Miguez), o museu de fato faz jus a um dos maiores nomes da cultura baiana, com o acervo dividido entre lembranças e objetos pessoais do casal de escritores e o seu vasto acervo de arte, amealhado ao longo de décadas viajando ao redor do mundo.

Sem percurso pré-definido, o museu leva o visitante a se embrenhar pelos cômodos da casa dos Amado sem barreiras, com acesso ao quarto do casal, a cozinha, o belíssimo jardim, a sala onde Jorge escrevia etc.

Gringo Cardia fez um bom trabalho ao incluir filmes, projeções e narrações em quase todos os cômodos, ajudando a iluminar a vida e o trabalho do casal em suas diversas facetas: o Jorge Amado menino, o comunista, o homem de casa, escritores, anfitriões de personalidades.

Tocado pela prefeitura, o projeto teve investimento total de R$ 6 milhões, entre recursos públicos e privados.

Na inauguração desta sexta, estavam o prefeito de Salvador ACM Neto, o Secretário de Desenvolvimento Turismo e Cultura Guilherme Bellintani, o diretor da Fundação Gregório de Matos Fernando Guerreiro, os filhos de Jorge e Zélia João Jorge e Paloma, os netos do casal e a atriz Sônia Braga, entre outras personalidades da política e das artes. (fragment) – “After eleven years, closed on the afternoon of Friday, 7, the House of Jorge Amado and Zélia Gattai in number 33, Street Alagoinhas, of Rio Vermelho, Salvador, was again full of people. Was the opening for authorities, guests and press the Red River's House memorial.

Designed by celebrated architect and set designer Gringo Cardia (with assistance in curatorial Assistant Dean at Ufba Paulo Miguez), the Museum actually does justice to one of the biggest names in Bahian culture, with the collection divided between memories and personal objects of the couple of writers and his vast art collection, amassed over decades travelling around the world.

No predefined route, the Museum takes the visitor to trudge by the rooms of the House of the Beloved without barriers, with access to the master bedroom, the kitchen, the beautiful garden, the room where Jorge was writing etc.

Gringo Cardia did a good job to include films, projections and narrations in almost every room, helping to illuminate the life and work of the couple in its many facets: the Jorge Amado, the Communist boy, the man of the House, writers, hosts of personalities.

Touched by the municipality, the project had a total investment of $ 6 million, between public and private resources.

At the opening this Friday, were the Mayor of Salvador ACM Neto, Secretary of Tourism and Culture Development Guilherme Bellintani, Director of Fundação Gregório de Matos Fernando Guerreiro, the children of George and Zélia John George and Paloma, the grandchildren of the couple and the actress Sonia Braga, among other personalities of politics and the arts.
