A ilustração compõe a obra Carta a El Rey Dom
Aquarelas do Descobrimento.

WATERCOLOR OF THE DISCOVERY (fragment)
The oldest record about the existence of Brazil, the
letter of Pero Vaz de Caminha, won watercolor version signed by Carybé. The
illustration is the work letter to El Rey Don Manuel, a re-reading of
historical document created by the writer Rubem Braga and published in 1981.
Thus were born the 50 works that integrate exposure Watercolors of the
discovery.
Curated by Solange Bernabó, daughter of Carybé, sought
to promote the harmony between the moments of the artist, in addition to its
privileged technique.

In vivid colors and light strokes, Carybé portrays the
most striking moments of Portuguese narrative about Brazil: the navigation of
the fleet; the sight of the land; the first contact between Portuguese and
Indians; the exchange of cultures; the first mass; the pau-brasil. Scenes from
the first encounters that, later, with the contribution of Africans also
crucial, would give rise to the Brazilian people
