de nápoles, em 1598, nasceu o escultor, pintor e arquiteto gian lorenzo
bernini. segundo constam em relatos históricos, morreu em roma, em 1680, “consta”,
porque, quem faz arte, vive. vive para a humanidade.
bernini explorou muito bem os estilos renascentista e
barroco. criou obras arquitetônicas com estruturas monumentais, uma das principais
características barroca, com linhas retas, pés altos, e frontispícios sem
maneirismo os quais denotam aspectos do renascentismo. o artista foi, é, clássico.

os quais, tiveram como mérito reconhecerem a capacidade de bernini para criar
obras artísticas de monta, em um contexto político, onde, a arte foi amplamente
utilizado pelos chefes cristãos com objetivo de demonstrar, por meio da riqueza
material, seu poder de atração e manutenção do seu rebanho.
a fé,
para os europeus dos setecentos, pôde
ser percebida e sentida com o poderoso simbolismo exibido na piazza navona, basílica de são pedro, praça

artístico e arquitetônico de bernini é extenso, complexo, belo ao extremo, e
não pode ser descrito em um breve artigo. portanto, é imprescindível a consulta
e apreciação pictográfica das obras desse grande homem do século dezessete nos estudos
da história das artes, estudos museológicos, estudos arquitetônicos, e demais. e
melhor ainda, quando possível, visitar pessoalmente este acervo na Itália.
